Job Summary

CCM seeks individuals with media experience to adjunct teach courses in the areas of journalism and sports journalism. Ideal candidates will possess a strong professional background in a variety of methods in journalism and/or sports media. Excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring aspiring journalists. Master’s degree required. Knowledge of AP style required.

All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Adjunct faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities.

In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional activities may include participation in departmental initiatives, evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties.



Qualifications - Education

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in appropriate discipline or five years plus professional experience required.



Qualifications - Experience

Previous teaching/supervisory experience preferred.



Qualifications - Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop software on a Mac preferred. Understanding of Associated Press Style required.



Work Hours

Day & Evening hours as needed.
