Job Summary
The Success Coach will plan, market, and conduct participant and employer phone calls, remote sessions to inform potential enrollees about the Advanced Manufacturing career pathways through workforce programs. The Success Coach will be responsible for providing career readiness workshops and guidance to all enrolled students. They will be responsible for working with participants and employers to ensure learners’ progress in their courses and for facilitating access to supportive services such as transportation.
The Success Coach will maintain and update all program-related files and documentation related to outreach, placement, completion and wage increases; establish and maintain an organized and confidential management system; prepare and track all career-based activities and outcomes; confer and obtain student and employer feedback; research current job demand and maintain current knowledge of job demand and position requirements in workforce program-related employment
The Success Coach will Interact with and act as a liaison to other areas within the college and outside agencies as needed to support students goals towards employment and perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Education
Minimum of an associate degree and/or related experience in Education, Human Services, Vocation Rehabilitation, career counseling or related field
Qualifications - Experience
Preferred 2-3 years of experience working in advising/counseling, career placement, apprenticeship or human resources. Previous experience in the job placement field.
Qualifications - Skills
Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open-door policy. Working knowledge of coordinating services with multiple agencies, business, and educational partners. Excellent written, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Has basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Exhibits strong skills in leadership, managing people, building relationships and possess a creative and innovative approach to problem solving. Ability to provide students with valuable career seeking skills through resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, job search and networking strategies. Must have the ability to follow established protocols, have private transportation and the ability to work a varied schedule as needed. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision. Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals.
Work Hours
Working hours are Tuesday-Friday, 8:30AM-3PM. Preferred working hours consider student experience, staff needs and flow of business operations.
